When El Camino College’s women’s tennis program was cut in the spring of 2025, 19-year-old data science major Robyn Wong said she understood the decision, even if it meant losing the sport that brought her to ECC.

Canvas is back online, here’s what to know

Student private data is said to have been recovered after a cyberattack stealing billions worth of data was made on global learning educational platform Canvas.

The company that owns Canvas, Instructure, reported coming to an agreement with ShinyHunters, a cyber hacking group that took credit for the attack.

ECC undergoes federal investigation following women’s athletics cuts

The U.S Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights is investigating El Camino College over a possible Title IX violation for failing to provide equal athletic participation opportunities to female students by not effectively accommodating their interests and abilities.

Public disturbance at Cafe Camino

After verbal threats and slurs were spoken to people waiting in line at Cafe Camino at El Camino College Thursday, March 19, a student is being issued an order to stay off campus for the next 10 days.

If the student is seen on campus before the 10 days are up, they will be arrested, according to officer Ryan Brown.
Photography major Samantha Cetina, 20, said the student was “very aggressive” and trying to initiate a fight with her.

More than 4,000 spring 2026 applications were identified as fraudulent, according to a presentation from Acting Dean of Enrollment Services Dr. Kristina Martinez at the Feb. 18 Board of Trustees meeting.

Sexual offenses increase across higher education in California

Standing near Cafe Camino in the afternoon, Rosalina Morfin,18, and her friend were talking to a group of students when they noticed a man hovering nearby.
